Take Action

State lawmakers introduced new legislation that would completely eliminate electric choice in Michigan, abandon competition, and cause electric rates to skyrocket.

The new legislation would grant a full monopoly to DTE and Consumers Energy, forcing thousands of Michigan job makers, schools, and families to leave their current, lower cost energy suppliers and requiring them to purchase electricity from the big utilities at dramatically higher rates.

What’s more, over 11,000 additional job makers, schools, and families with signed contracts to leave the monopoly utilities would lose the chance, and rate payers across Michigan would be prevented from ever shopping for the best price on electricity again.
